| Singapore U16 Girls heading to Perth for FHE Cup
24 November 09, SINGAPORE: The Singapore Hockey Federation (SHF) has confirmed that their Under-16 Girls' team drawn from players in the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) squad will be heading to Perth, Australia to participate in the FHE Cup from 11 to 13 December this year.
The trip is planned to act as a litmus test for the girls to prove their worthiness for selection to represent Singapore in next year's Youth Olympic Games.
Singapore will open the tournament on the first day against Japan's U16 side. Later in the afternoon they will play against the Western Australian State U16 girls before finishing the preliminary round of games against South West Academy of Sport Girls the next day.
Depending on their league position they will then either play in the grand finals or the 3rd and 4th placing game on the final day of the tournament. The Girls are in training at the moment for the assignment next month-Story by SHF
