| SHF U21 Championships 2010 Results Week 2
19 Jan 10, SINGAPORE: The second week of the Singapore Hockey Federation (SHF) U21 2010 season saw a barrage of goals and also the start of the Girl's competition. The 10-team girls tournament started with both Crescent sides opening with wins and defending champions Singapore Recreation Club (SRC) scoring a comfortable 6-0 win over Police Sports Association.
Crescent A grinded out a 1-0 win over Singapore Cricket Club (SCC) while Crescent B bagged a 9-0 win over Hawks Hockey Club. Last season's runners-up Jansenites earned an important 1-0 win over a tricky Indian Association (IA) side to complete the first round of games.
In the boy's competition Jansenites continue to dominate after 7-3 win over SCC. The latter were leading 3-1 at one stage of the game before Jansenites ran riot scoring six unanswered goals. In the meantime, group rivals Police brushed Ceylon Sports Club (CSC) aside 6-0 before IA beat CSC 3-1 the next day.
In the battle for Group C's supremacy, Khalsa destroyed Old Rafflesians Association (ORA) 6-0 to all but book their second round ticket. Also seemingly heading to the second round is C&C United who rolled over Hawks 10-0. Not to be undone, SRC Team 1 walked all over OVA-VJC 8-0 to reclaim the group leadership on goal difference albeit the Padang club having played one game more than their group rivals C&C United and the Singapore Youth Olympic Games (YOG) squad.
SCC's K Balakumaran continues to lead the top scorers' charts with his 6-goals from 3 games but he is keenly followed by the trio of Jeremy Tan from C&C United, Johnson Sivalingam of Jansenites and Muhd Haseef of the YOG who have each scored 4-goals. In the girls section, Nadia Binte Ibrahim of Crescent B and Nursabrina Bhanu of SRC are way ahead of the pack with 4-goals each.-story by SHF
