Announcement-Season 2010
02 February 2010
Start of League 2010 season

The Singapore Hockey Federation (SHF) is proud to announce the launch of the 2010 season. The season will start with the Men's and Women's Premier League along with the Women's Division One League. Invitation letters have been sent to the clubs eligible to play in the leagues and the closing date for registration is 12 February 10.

There are no changes to the Premier League for men and women where the tournament fees is retained at S$1,200 and player registration for players older than 18 S$35 and those younger at S$20. Seven clubs have been invited to play in the Men's Premier League including the Singapore Youth Olympic Games (YOG) squad.

In the women's Premier League, no major changes are expected at this stage. However Singapore Indian Association is expected to make its Women's Premier League debut this season in the six-team league. Each club is allowed to register only four-players who are not Singapore citizens or Permanent residents for each game. In the men's league the restriction is three.

In the meantime, the Women's Division One league will see all the other women's teams in Singapore invited to participate.

The season will start on 20 March 10 and last for some 3 months. Women's Division One tournament entry fee is set S$1,000. Apart from monetary requirements, the Premier league will require men to attain level 10 in the beep test if they are to play in the league whilst the women have to do level 8. For goalkeepers the requirement is lowered by one level.

The SHF is looking forward to receiving your entries and participate in what promises to be another successful year of league hockey. For more details kindly call the SHF secretariat.
