The golden whistle award is presented to FIH International Umpires who have completed their 100th official Senior International Inter Nations Match.
Hong Zhen earned the golden whistle when he officiated his 100th international match in February 2020 at the Pro League Match between New Zealand and Great Britain.
His international career began in 2007, and he rapidly established himself as a competent official in Asia, with appointments for the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, 2016’s Rio Olympics, and even the 2018 World Cup in Bubhaneshwar.
